COLLEGE STATION – Today, State Representative Kyle Kacal (R – College Station) announced he is running for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives in 2020. Rep. Kacal represents House District 12, which consists of Falls, Limestone, and Robertson Counties and large portions of Brazos and McLennan Counties.

Since Rep. Kacal was first elected in 2012, he has proven himself as an effective and conservative member of the Texas Legislature and has demonstrated his commitment to fighting for citizens of the State of Texas and House District 12.

“House District 12 deserves an experienced and conservative Representative who has brought home meaningful results,” said Kacal. “In the last legislative session, I fought to keep taxes low and regulations reasonable, so Texas remains the leading job-growth state in the nation. I passed a balanced budget without raising taxes and increased funding for our public schools.”

Rep. Kacal served on the Environmental Regulation committee and the Culture, Recreation, and Tourism Committee in the 86th Legislature where he fought to protect private property rights and ensure the continuation of unprecedented economic growth in Texas.

Since he was first elected in 2012, Rep. Kacal has been a fierce advocate for rural Texans and understands the importance of agriculture in this State. He has also fought tirelessly to protect the unborn, secure the border, protect the second amendment, and defend law enforcement officers who keep our families safe. In the 86th Legislature, Rep. Kacal secured $5 billion for property tax relief and made a historic improvement to the way we fund our schools. He led the fight to increase teacher pay and gave our retired teachers a well-deserved “13th check.”

Rep. Kacal runs a large-scale cattle business in addition to a full-service hunting operation. As a family man and a business owner, he understands what it takes to represent rural Texas and the voters of House District 12.

Kyle and his wife, Marci, have two children, Carter and Kendall, who attend Texas A&M Galveston and the University of Texas, respectively. The family is actively involved in their church, St. Thomas Aquinas.
